An IGBT module (Insulated Gate Bipolar Transistor module) is a power semiconductor device that integrates multiple IGBT chips and a free-wheeling diode (FWD) into a single package via a specific circuit configuration. It is often referred to as the “CPU” of power electronic devices and serves as a core component in energy conversion and transmission.
In terms of performance, IGBT modules combine the advantages of MOSFETs (high input impedance and fast switching speed) with those of BJTs (low on-resistance and high current-carrying capacity). Their modular design provides high power handling, excellent heat dissipation, and high reliability, making them suitable for high-voltage, high-current operating environments ranging from 600 V to 6,500 V, capable of handling currents up to several hundred amperes.
