CRRC Times Semiconductor successfully won the entire share
- high-voltage high-current thyristors for converter valves at both sending and receiving ends of the Brazilian Belo Monte UHV DC transmission project, delivering more than 6,000 units. This has contributed to serving and promoting the construction of the Belt and Road Initiative.
- The project adopts the company’s self-developed 5-inch HVDC thyristor (3200A/8500V). Through the company’s three-level simulation platform design and process optimization, this model of thyristor has characteristics such as high withstand voltage, strong current carrying capacity, short turn-off time, low loss, and high reliability. It fully meets various customer product requirements.
- Since 2008, with reliable product quality and strong brand influence, CRRC Times Semiconductor has successively provided HVDC thyristor products for nearly 20 domestic and international DC transmission projects. Domestically, 6-inch HVDC thyristors produced by our company have been adopted in large quantities in multiple UHV DC transmission projects such as Jiuquan-Hunan, Shanghai Temple-Linyi, Zhalut-Qingzhou, and Changji-Guquan. CRRC Times Semiconductor products have undergone batch application assessments, serving customers with high-quality products and excellent quality. They have made outstanding contributions to comprehensively improving China’s power transmission and distribution capacity, and have now become a major supplier of semiconductor devices in the global power transmission and distribution field.
- CRRC Times Semiconductor has testing capabilities for bipolar devices at power levels of 6-inch, 6800A, 12000V and below, as well as full type-test capabilities. It is the supporting unit of the State Key Laboratory of New Power Semiconductor Devices and the National Energy R&D Center for High-Power Power Electronic Devices. Based on global power transmission and distribution engineering and technical requirements, the company has now developed larger-sized thyristors for HVDC transmission, greatly improving the current carrying capacity of thyristors for converter valves, reducing the number of series-connected thyristors in converter valves, and improving the reliability of converter valves. In the future, CRRC Times Semiconductor will provide customers with more comprehensive high-power product series and solutions.
